Children as young as 10 were hurt after a brawl broke out in between more than 200 football fans in a coach park.

Five individuals were apprehended in the wake of the battle after the Middlesbrough v Sheffield United video game on Saturday.

Cleveland Police stated children were “frightened” by the violence, which left one law enforcement officer in medical facility.

Disorder started prior to the last whistle when Blades fans believed their group scored an eleventh hour equaliser, just for it to be prohibited.

Those held stay in custody while queries continue.

Cleveland Police Assistant Chief Constable Jason Harwin stated the force would “never endure violence of this nature”.

He included: “The large bulk of fans accept that football is a household video game, enjoyed by kids, grandparents and moms and dads.

“It’s frightening for kids to witness such violence, or be innocently involved in it as their moms and dads anxiously attempt to keep them safe.

“Unfortunately a little minority of individuals act in a way which puts innocent fans at threat.”

Middlesbrough won the Championship video game 1-0.
